Accommodation at Ingram House
The Garden at Ingram House
Ingram House stands in the Northumberland National Park - recently designated the third largest gold star dark sky park in the world. The house was originally the farmhouse until the 1940s when it was sold off with two acres of land and a new farmhouse was built across the road.

There has been a building on the site since the mid 18th century – originally a two up two down building, which has expanded over the years to what it is now.  The last alterations were made when we moved here to accommodate an aging granny. The garden has been the greatest challenge.  It was overgrown when we moved here and we have tried to claw back most of the original garden and added many new bits as we have gone along.  It is a continuing 10-year project and hopefully gives as much pleasure to our guests as it does to us.

An old house has many quirky traits and we have a good share of those.  You will see from the photographs that we offer three rooms, a double and a twin with ensuite bath for £80 per night and a Garden Room (kingsize double or twin) with ensuite shower for £95 per night. Our water comes from the hills so it is as pure as pure can be.  (It is regularly tested so is quite safe!)  There are tea trays in each room, a television and Wifi is available.

Back to the Dark Skies.  This area is definitely one of the best places to stargaze.  We have recently restored our Summer House so guests can retreat there when the night skies permit. You can map the stars and wonder at the extent of them with the help of binoculars or telescope – please bring your own if you have them. Sit back and enjoy the beauty with a glass of wine or a mug of hot chocolate.  There is nothing quite like it.

Whilst you are staying with us you will eat in our large kitchen/dining room.   We will cook you delicious breakfasts using locally sourced ingredients, from the garden when possible.  We also offer dinner to those who want it as we have found many of our guests are either walkers, and the nearest pub is four miles away, or just want to relax here after a good day out visiting all the castles, beaches, battle sites and hill forts that are so near.

We thoroughly enjoy welcoming guests to our home, indeed some have become friends as they return year after year. We hope you will enjoy all that Ingram House, the National Park and the surrounding area has to offer.  We have not had a disappointed guest yet.  We welcome walkers and cyclists.  There is plenty of drying space for wet outer garments and boots and locked storage for bicycles.
